We hope that you’ve had a great summer and were able to enjoy a vacation or had time to finish that household project you'd working on.
We've had a lot going on at The Good Neighbours’ Club and would love to share a few updates with you.

On June 6th, we honoured Canada's veterans through a screening of
"D-Day: Canada's 24 Hours of Destiny" at The Royal Canadian Military Institute. Colonel John Clarry was presented with the inaugural Clarry Award for the ongoing support he and his family have given the Club over the years.

We finally have an outdoor grill again! Thank you to Jim Lee and family and PCL Construction for sponsoring two of our BBQs this summer.  Our last BBQ of the season was on Labour Day Monday.
The Good Wishes Project, in collaboration with the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller and Inner City Health Associates, was created to personalize the process of dying and to bring comfort and dignity to the last days of those who have experienced homelessness. We were thrilled to receive a donation for this program in memory of Ken Barsness, a man who dedicated his own life to supporting the marginalized.
Come see us at The St. Lawrence Market on Saturday October 1st and Saturday December 10th - we'll have a table set up inside the entrance to promote our services for older men.
A new Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone system was installed at the Club, as a result of a generous grant from
The Rotary Club of Toronto. Our members now have access to their own voicemail and our operational costs have decreased.
We entered a team in the Downtown East End Softball League, running out of Moss Park, and at 72 years old, our pitcher is the oldest in the league. The entire team was fortunate to receive new gloves donated by a local Canadian Tire store.
