E-Newsletter ~ September 2019

Dear Friends,

This Season of Creation, Pope Francis invites us to "pray, reflect and act, to protect an endangered environment". He reinforced this message during his recent Apostolic visit to Mozambique, Madagascar and Mauritius, reminding us that " that we cannot speak of integral development without showing consideration and care for our common home".

In July, together with the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, UN Environment and WWF Africa, we co-hosted an international conference, to mark the 4th anniversary of Laudato Si', and the 5th of CYNESA. The commitment of young people in Africa, to "live Laudato Si", was loud and clear during the two days of the encounter. We are now moving forward with this renewed enthusiasm and energy, to grow our network and to deepen our engagement of young people across the continent, to tackle this complex crisis which requires everyone's talents.
What a better time to do that than during this Season of Creation!

Allen Ottaro,
Founding Executive Director,
CYNESA.
