E-Newsletter Jan~Feb Edition

Dear Friends,

It may seem uncharacteristic to wish you a happy new year, since we have already bade farewell to January and February. However, as this is the first CYNESA e-newsletter for the year 2019, I take the opportunity to wish you and yours a happy and blessed 2019.

2019 is set to be a very exciting year for us at CYNESA. 5 years ago, we officially became a legal entity, and have seen our network grow steadily since. On our 5th anniversary, we are even more ambitious to expand, strengthen and deepen our work on the continent. The challenge of caring for our common home, requires all of us to move “faster, further, together”.

In presenting this edition of the CYNESA e-newsletter, may I invite you to join in our joy, in thanksgiving for the last 5 years, and to pray that our network may be an instrument that sets young people in Africa, on a journey that brings “the hope of Christ also to creation, so that it may be “set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God”, as Pope Francis invites us in this year’s Lenten message.

Allen Ottaro,
Founding Executive Director,

CYNESA.

Tribute to ET302 Plane Crash Victims...
The CYNESA family wishes to join the world in prayer for the families and friends of our departed brothers and sisters who were aboard flight ET302, on the morning of Sunday, March 10th 2019.
Many of them were travelling to Nairobi to attend the United Nations Environment Assembly, which is taking place from 11th to 15th March.
May God grant all, especially the families and friends, peace and consolation and may the souls of all the departed, rest in eternal peace.
CYNESA offers the platform through which young Catholics across Africa, respond to the twin challenges of Environmental Degradation and Climate Change, from the perspective of Catholic social teaching on care for creation, paying attention to the most vulnerable.
