ENABLE - HiDAV Summer Boot Camp Successfully Ended!
CHIP received a three-year funding from the United Health Foundation in 2018. Hence, Project ENABLE initiative was formed. ENABLE hosted a seven-week summer boot camp called HiDAV - Health Informatics Data Analytics and Visualization for underrepresented minority students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs.

The program recruited seven students, who were enrolled to NC A&T, Bennett College, Morehouse School of Medicine and Johnson C. Smith University. The face-to-face boot camp exposed the students to Biomedical Health Informatics (BMHI) principles. The ENABLE HiDAV summer program successfully ended on July 3rd. Click here to learn more
Updates on CHIP Core and Associated Faculty:
Dr. Saif Khairat has published "The Impact of Visualization Dashboards on Quality of Care and Clinician Satisfaction: Integrative Literature Review." In PubMed.
Objective: The purpose of conducting this literature review is to synthesize previous research on the use of dashboards visualizing electronic health record information for health care providers. A review of the existing literature on this subject can be used to identify gaps in prior research and to inform further research efforts on this topic. Ultimately, this evidence can be used to guide the development, testing, and implementation of a new solution to optimize the visualization of clinical information, reduce clinician cognitive overload, and improve patient outcomes.
