Dr. Javed Mostafa's invited talk at Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford
Your Brain on Google: The Neuroscience of Online Search
How does online searching affect your brain? Research on online searching has been primarily based on behavioral models, and it is only in the last few years that researchers have started to focus more intensively on physiological and neurological evidence associated with online searching. In this talk, Professor Javed Mostafa from the University of North Carolina provided an overview of an ongoing project investigating online search based on a neuro-physiological method. The aim of the project is to determine if search task types and the modality of search result presentation lead to differential neuro-physiological responses.
