Welcome to our look back at the third quarter and the look ahead to the fourth. Speculation spiked since our last issue, and as is often the case, much of it was overblown and some of it just never happened. The entire AWA crew wishes you and your loved ones the most wonderful of Thanksgivings.

PERSPECTIVES:  THE "WHAT" AND THE "NOW, WHAT"
The "What":  The third quarter was turbulent for many of the markets in which we invest. Much of these drastic drops has already reversed course between the time the quarter ended and the time this newsletter was assembled.

For perspective, the chart below shows that U.S. stocks typically have delivered above-average returns on such an event. Accepting price fluctuations as a natural characteristic of markets is a key tenet of stock investing.

GIVING BACK

AWA forged an alliance with Food for the Poor, a group that provides food, housing, emergency relief and more to the poorest of the poor in 17 Latin American and Caribbean countries. Food for the Poor has raised more than $11 billion in aid since its inception in 1982, and less than 5 percent of its budget is spent on administrative costs.

As a team, we decided to focus our efforts on serving a community in Honduras, and our fundraising efforts will initially help to bring a
water well to our sister community there. We're excited to help rally support and aid in serving the needs of our adopted community.
