A Note from Ms. Brandee

Winter Spectacular RSVP

Greetings, Compass Community,
The Winter Spectacular is This THURSDAY

We have events at 6:00 and 7:00 pm at Edwards Auditorium at URI

Below is some new information and some reminders that are useful to revisit the week of the big event!

Wellness & Risk Mitigation

As always, if you or your child are feeling unwell, please refrain from attending this event.

Masks will be made available at the entrance.  Masking is recommended by RIDOH.

We will bring our school's HEPA filters to the event to further increase circulation.

This year, seats will not be assigned as they were last year.  All seats on Thursday are first come-first served.

However, we will reserve the balcony (there is actually an outstanding view from those seats!) for those who wish to have increased physical distancing

If you sit in the balcony, please be sure to leave ample space between your party and other audience members as you are all there for that purpose :)

Our Program

The evening event will include performances by our middle school students
  • Investigator (5th/6th) Symphonic Band
  • Navigator (7th/8th) Modern Band
  • Investigator Choir
  • Navigator Choir
  • The annual Shakespeare Production by the Navigator Drama Class: Much Ado About Nothing
As a reminder, if your child participates in one the classes above, his/her attendance is expected and is part of their evaluation for the course

The schedule is as follows:

Middle School Choir and Band Concert
5:45 pm: Families may arrive at Edwards Auditorium
6:00 pm: The Investigator Concert begins!

The Navigator (7th/8th) Drama production of Much Ado About Nothing
6:45 pm: Families may arrive at Edwards Auditorium
7:00 pm: The play begins!

Dress Reminders
  • Band members should wear black.
  • Choir members are asked to dress up.
  • Actors in the play should wear their costumes :)
Families, please RSVP on behalf of your performer and family audience members below.
RSVP: Families of Performers

All Are Welcome!

Compass community members who are not performing are welcome to attend as well.  In particular, the Shakespeare play is always a hit each year!

Of note, all students who plan to be in the audience must be accompanied by a parent chaperone (whose seating is located in close proximity to the student).

Parents are welcome to bring a group of student friends as audience members, so long as the parents commit to monitoring for expected student behavior of the whole group.

If you are the parent of a non-performer, please use the link below to RSVP.
RSVP: Non-Performers

Families, please plan to park at the Visitor Center, which is located at the corner of Upper College Rd and Briar Lane.

For your convenience, I've inserted a map of our destinations at URI that evening.
  • Edwards Auditorium is highlighted in a green box with a green star.
  • The greet shaded section to the Southeast of Edwards is our parking destination for that evening.
We look forward to seeing you Thursday!

In Partnership,
Ms. Brandee & Ms. Lori
