Take a coffee break!
Welcome to the first issue of our bi-weekly new feature SEBA Center Stage* where we will spotlight a SEBA business or organization.
Around the Corner Framing
Around the Corner Framing, located at 637 Tremont Street, is owned and operated by Amanda Accardi (website).

"I love my job because each customer brings something to my table that is personal to them. Every piece has a story and every single one is different. It is such an amazing position to be in, sharing a connection with someone to their art work. Whether it is their own art, art they bought and love, or something they are making into art by framing it. It continues to fascinate me and there is never a dull moment."
Why the South End?
Seven years ago Amanda felt she was was lucky to get into the South End in a transitional time when things were not quite booming but they were certainly on a uptick. She has enjoyed watching the South End change and grow, but still keep its roots in the art culture and diversity. She really appreciates the increasing number of young, ambitious business owners that are taking this neighborhood by storm and is happy to be a part of such a great group.

Why a SEBA Member
Amanda joined the South End Business Alliance (SEBA) in 2010 because it gave her the opportunity to network with other business owners in the neighborhood and that helped her business grow through word-of-mouth referrals to local residents and to Boston area companies. Amanda joined the Board of Directors for SEBA in 2014 and is Co-chair of Events. She became involved on the Board to be more active in helping to shape the future and growth of SEBA.

Connections - "Take the time to follow through."
As a member of SEBA one of the most important things she's learned as the face of her business and networking is following through with connections. "When you receive an email inquiry, or meet someone and exchange business cards make sure to follow up about the specific topic or event-- the attentiveness and response to that person is very important. Making connections or missing connections can make or break a lot of business opportunities."

About the Business
Dedicated to creativity in the framing industry, Around the Corner Framing opened its doors in 2009 and offers the largest selection of mouldings and museum quality materials in Boston. Amanda and her team work with each artist, designer and neighbor to make projects or objects, large or small, fit perfectly into any vision. Around the Corner Framing is a proud sponsor of many local non-profit organizations such as the Massachusetts College of Art and Design Annual Auction, Boston Ballet, Generations Incorporated, and United South End Settlements, to name a few.

About Amanda Accardi
Amanda enjoys working with galleries and designers on in-home and corporate projects. Consultations, curating and installation have become integral parts of Around the Corner's full service standards. After joining SEBA, Amanda became an active participant in meetings between SEBA and Washington Gateway Main Streets. These meetings include many South End retail business owners who coordinate such events as the South End Sidewalk Sale and annual Holiday Stroll. Amanda is a member of the Boston Cyclists Union and enjoys her daily ride from Jamaica Plain on the Southwest Corridor bike path.
