The next meeting of the Ancient Coin Club of Los Angeles will take place Sunday November 8, 2015 in the Community Room at the Sherman Oaks Galleria starting at 1:00 PM. The Sherman Oaks Galleria is located northwest of the intersection of the Ventura and San Diego Freeways at 15301 Ventura Blvd. (at Sepulveda Blvd.), in Sherman Oaks. Park in the Galleria parking lot (we validate your parking). The Community Room is located on Level 1 of the rotunda, one floor below the cinema.
The meeting will feature a presentation by Ken Friedman on “Ancient Imitations”.
The November meeting will also feature an auction - please bring your duplicate coins, books and other items.
LAST MEETING
ACCLA's October 2016 meeting was held at the Getty Center where we convened at 2:00 PM to view the magnificent exhibit: Power and Pathos: Bronze Sculpture of the Hellenistic World which featured Hellenistic bronzes loaned from major museums and collections from around the world. We toured the exhibit for several hours and then enjoyed a light lunch in the Museum cafeteria.
Earlier in the day, six of us had represented the Club at Dave Stepsay’s interment at Hillside Memorial Park. That was quite a joyful celebration of his life. Dave would have appreciated both events!
