The next meeting of the Ancient Coin Club of Los Angeles will take place Sunday January 10, 2015 in the Community Room at the Sherman Oaks Galleria starting at 1:00 PM. The Sherman Oaks Galleria is located northwest of the intersection of the Ventura and San Diego Freeways at 15301 Ventura Blvd. (at Sepulveda Blvd.), in Sherman Oaks. Park in the Galleria parking lot (we validate your parking). The Community Room is located on Level 1 of the rotunda, one floor below the cinema.
This first meeting of ACCLA's semicentennial year is our Annual Pot Luck Banquet and Officer Installation. The meeting will also feature reviews of 2015, voting for the Annual Barbara Rightman award, and an auction. Please bring your duplicate coins, books, and other items.

ACCLA's December and Annual Member's meeting was brought to order by President Ken Friedman at 1:34 PM. He began by announcing that a brief Board Meeting would be held immediately after this meeting. Treasurer Barry Rightman gave the Treasurer's report. Secretary Michael Connor gave his web report. We now have 831 followers on facebook. Paul Ranc thanked Michael for upgrading the Monthly Meeting Notice. Ken reported that the California State Numismatic Association had asked if ACCLA could provide a speaker for its 48th Annual Southern California Educational Symposium on April 23, 2016. Merrill Gibson outlined his thoughts for our proposed meeting to be held in conjunction with the ANS World's Fair of Money. There was much general discussion about celebrating the Club's 50 year. Betty Eiseman circulated the sign-up list for the January banquet. Vice-President Roger Burry reviewed upcoming meeting programs.

The program I Claudius in Coins, Part III was given by Randy Butler. Randy regaled us with an entertaining and erudite review of Claudius' family background and life as an Emperor that was nicely illustrated with coins mainly from Randy's collection. Thank you Randy!
