DoctorsOntario Calls on Ford Government
to release hoards of N95 masks
and fund telephone calls to manage patients
during the COVID-19 outbreak
Dear Colleagues,
DoctorsOntario has identified Ontario healthcare facilities have hoards of N95 masks while many if not most front-line primary care physician offices can't get any. We are calling on the Ford Government to do the right thing and release N95 masks at least to strategic front-line offices.

In addition as was done for SARS in 2003 (Click here to see the 2003 Bulletin), DoctorsOntario calls on the Ford government to introduce funding for physicians to manage patients by telephone reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19 to doctors, staff, & patients, as well as reducing the strain on Telehealth & Public Health units.

Implementing telephone fees will also significantly alleviate the large income loss due to a drop in patient traffic through our offices particularly if you are in FFS or FHG funding models. Instead of the 2003 fees of $10, $25, and $50, we are calling for modernized fees of $25.00, $37.50, and $75.00.

As you know, It costs roughly $2,000 a year to be a member of the OMA. It costs only $400 a year to be a member of DoctorsOntario. We are a completely voluntary organization not tied to government legislation. Don't let well-meaning amateurs or those with their own agenda determine your future. There's too much at stake here.
