AGREEMENT
SCIENCE PARKS START PARTNERSHIP WHICH ALLOWS THE EXCHANGE BETWEEN ENTERPRISES

The UFRJ Science Park, the PUCRS Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc), and the Digital Port from Recife, signed an agreement to create a Softlanding program. An unprecedented partnership in Brazil, it aims at enabling the exchange between companies located within the innovative environments of parks in Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and Recife.

Each park will reserve five workplaces in the respective co-working areas to receive the companies. In total, 15 companies will be able to try out the innovative environments of each Park and interact with the ecosystem and partners. It is expected that the first companies will be installed between March and May of 2017.

For José Carlos Pinto, CEO of UFRJ Science Park, the Softlanding creation will reinforce the interaction between the companies and the other innovation, technology and research environments in Brazil and in other countries.

“The Project is very relevant to stimulate the exchange of experiences between the parks, allowing the resident companies to become more mature and to have the opportunity to interact with other innovative environments. It is the first step towards  the mobility of companies interested in expanding their territories. It is the first time the large Brazilian parks organize themselves to jointly promote these actions. The aim is to expand the action to a greater number of innovative environments”, states José Carlos Pinto.

INTERNATIONALIZATION
UFRJ SCIENCE PARK SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH TUSPARK IN CHINA

The UFRJ Science Park signed a partnership agreement with TusPark, a technology park from China. The aim is to both stimulate and support the internationalization of technology-based companies located in the two innovative environments, particularly the small and medium-sized companies, as well as the UFRJ Park itself. Directly linked to the University of Tsinghua, TusPark is one of the largest parks of the world, concerning size and number of resident companies, with more than six thousand companies installed.

The agreement will allow the Brazilian resident companies to develop activities in China and vice versa. Plus, it will also provide the companies full support from the local teams of both innovative environments for prospection, networking and legal issues.

The agreement is an enhancement in the relationship that the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro already has with the University of Tsinghua through COPPE. This has allowed the exchange of experiences between researchers, joint publications and technology development.
