On April 12, the UFRJ Science Park launches its strategic plan containing the operation guidelines for the next 30 years. The plan will be presented during an event where there will be a debate on the role of innovation for the development of Brazil. The roundtable will bring together the following participants: the rector of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Leher; the federal congressman Otávio Leite; the municipal secretary for Development, Employment and Innovation, Clarissa Garotinho; the Fiocruz CEO, Nísia Trindade Lima and the director for Innovation from Finep, Márcio Girão. The COPPE/UFRJ Business Incubator opened a call for tenders to select new companies focused on technology and innovation. Applications can be submitted until May 26, 2017 and details can be found at the institution website.

The proposals presented should meet the following criteria: the product or service developed by the companies must be innovative, the proposals should include some sort of interaction with UFRJ and be both technically and economically feasible. The applicants should schedule an interview, using the phone number which appears in the tender, to obtain the proposal script to be presented.
