Finalizing Judge Information
Coaches, if you input your name as the team judge, please email Anna Long the name of your actual judge immediately. The Problem Captains will be contacting judges soon about the MANDATORY training on Saturday, February 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Edgewater High School in Orlando.
Teams with no-show judges may be assessed a $100 penalty and/or up to 100 penalty points.
Any person listed as the volunteer worker for more than one team will be scheduled for MORE THAN ONE SHIFT. If you plan to find a substitute worker, Anna does not need to know. However, YOU will need to tell the substitute worker where and when to report, and that person will need to give the name of the worker that was registered in order for the team to receive credit.
Substitute workers should know the team for which they are working, including the school name, coach's name and long-term problem. No-show workers may result in a $25 penalty and/or 25 penalty points assessed against the team.
Mandatory Coaches Meeting
At least one coach per team, or alternately one coach per membership, must attend the MANDATORY coaches meeting on Saturday, February 6, from 8 a.m. to noon at Edgewater High School in Orlando. Coaches attending for more than one team are responsible for providing that information at check-in.
Teams may be assessed a $100 penalty and/or up to 100 penalty points for a no-show coach or coach's representative.
Keep Checking for Clarifications
If you follow us on Facebook or are diligently monitoring the Odyssey of the Mind Problem Clarifications page, then you know that Problem 1 teams had a new clarification on January 15. Teams need to be checking for clarifications regularly!
Also, when in doubt about ANYTHING in the problem, teams should submit a team-specific clarification by going to the Problem Clarifications page, clicking on the name of their long-term problem, entering their member number and ZIP code, and clicking "Log in." Clarification requests should be very detailed.
We have received word that there will be many issues with certain problems this year due to the complexity and subjectivity of the interpretation of the elements. To avoid problems, it is vital that you ask for clarifications. DO NOT ASSUME! Trust us that making assumptions often does not turn out well.
Pick Up Makeup Kits
If you ordered a theatrical makeup kit but have not yet picked it up, it will be brought to the SAK event. If you are not attending the SAK event, contact Anna Long immediately to make arrangements to do so. These kits were not prepaid, and extra kits are not available. They are $20 each.
SAK Sold Out
The SAK Comedy Lab Spontaneous Workshop is sold out, and no additional waitlisted teams can be accommodated. Details about the day-of-event check-in procedure will be emailed to confirmed teams today.

Scholarship Application Deadline Passed
The deadline for high school seniors to apply for a Magic Center Region scholarship has passed, and we are no longer accepting applications.
Don't forget that Magic Center is planning a flash mob on the day of the regional tournament. Watch the video below to learn the choreography Spotlight Dance Center created for us, and plan to join us on the football field. Everyone — kids and adults alike — can join in the fun! We will be filming on the ground and via drone.
