We just celebrated Chanukah, the miracle of lights made possible by Jewish Kohanim—Holy Priests leading Jewish civilians to repel the trained warriors who attacked and tried to subjugate our people.
During this holiday, Jews in NY were attacked on the streets as Antisemitic attacks are on the rise.
In Monsey, an attacker with a machete, purchased for under $5, slashed five Jews at a Chanukah party before being driven out by fast thinking congregants. In Texas, a charater who was known to be suspicious was killed by a Church security team after killing two inside.
We are taking positive action to prevent any such occurrence in our shul, having re-activated our security team. We have a system for keeping suspicious people outside of the synagogue, thus keeping any disruptions or potential attackers from getting inside.
Please sign up for the CSS training program for volunteers to help screen out potential threats and disruptions. It’s four 2 hour nights, and the information will help you every day, even if you never join our team.
Training starts Sunday evening, Jan. 5, but TOMORROW, Thursday, Jan 2 is the deadline to sign up. There are roles available that do not require standing outside, but we need people for that as well. Whatever you can do to help is appreciated.
Please contact me if you would like to help but cannot make this course time work for you.
