WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) congratulates Dr David Oldham who is the WA finalist in the 2017 Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) General Practitioner of the Year award. Dr Oldham has been acknowledged for his role in promoting the health of doctors and medical education. Read more
 

Joined-up health system key to keeping people well in the community
WA Primary Health Alliance recognises that deeper partnering and collaboration is needed across the healthcare sector if people with chronic health conditions are to be kept well in the community and out of hospital. Read more

Perth Voices Clinic leads way in innovation
WAPHA congratulates Perth Voices Clinic who won the Innovation Award at the 2017 WA Mental Health Awards. The Innovation Award, sponsored by WAPHA, recognises an initiative that uses a new approach or has the potential to transform the mental health landscape. Read more
Volunteers raise awareness of My Health Record
Busselton Health Campus is the first hospital in WA to have volunteers champion the benefits of the My Health Record system with visitors, staff and patients. Read more

GPs are good for our mental health
WAPHA  supports the Australian Medical Association’s campaign to raise awareness of GPs as the first port of call when people experience mental ill health. Placing a GP at the centre of a patients’ mental health care encourages early detection and intervention. Read more

Health care professionals discuss treatment of chronic conditions 
Health professionals from regional WA attended a workshop delivered in partnership by WACHS and WAPHA to discuss patient centred treatment and support for people with chronic health conditions.  Read more
Focus on home, land and place at Social Impact Festival 2017
WAPHA, a sponsor of the festival, hosted an Impact Lab: Place workshop which used the concept of place to explore and re-imagine what it takes to create and sustain healthy communities.  Read more

After hours service gives the newly housed a fresh start
A service providing after hours support to some of the most vulnerable people in Perth is helping them keep a roof over their heads and improve their health, social connections and participation in meaningful activities. Read more
