Sweetheart Days at the Shop

Buckeyes and Bluegrass Show Days

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday - Feb 12, 13, & 14 from 10 am to 6 pm

Snowy days have kept us busy in the workshop, and Lori brought a load of great vintage finds from Virginia, so there are lots of new treats to discover. Come see us out on Swabb Road this weekend!

Vintage Valentines

The Pieces We Love

This white Hoosier-style kitchen cabinet is Laura's favorite find, and is one of the first vintage pieces she ever owned.  Made by the Keystone Cabinet Company in the 1940s, it has the original deep metal-lined drawers, but not the flour sifter.  With loads of shelves and storage, she's used it as a media cabinet, extra pantry, kitchen office, and bar through the years. It's in the dining room now, where the enamel top that extends to nearly double the depth makes it perfect for cooling cookies and serving holiday meals.
Lori's beautiful antique walnut cupboard came out of one of the outbuildings on the family farm, where it was being used to store tools. Scraping off multiple layers of aging paint was one of the first refinishing projects she tackled, and she had just gotten it down to the bare wood when her first-grader wrote BRYAN RULES! on it with a black Sharpie marker. He's a college grad now, but we won't let him forget it.  The cupboard, an heirloom piece itself, makes a great background for Lori's rotating display of family antiques and cherished collections.
