Dear Friend,
More than 650 cyclists from 36 states and several Canadian provinces, as well as Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, had the adventure of a lifetime crossing New York State last month on our 19th annual Cycle the Erie Canal tour. Check out some photos from the tour.
Not only did participants have a great time but they added to the economy, as do all forms of outdoor recreation. Outdoor recreation is big business in NYS, and across the country. A new report from the Outdoor Industry Association shows that outdoor recreation in the Empire State generates $41.8 billion in consumer spending.
So even more reason to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors. Although there are still plenty of warm days ahead of us, summer is undeniably on the wane. If there’s an outdoor adventure still on your summer bucket list, go for it now and enjoy New York’s awesome parks and trails in these last few weeks of glorious summer.
See you at a park or trail,

Robin Dropkin
