Prerecorded Worship Services

Two prerecorded worship services with participation from across four Presbyteries have been created for Sunday April 11 and Sunday April 18. They are now available and will hopefully give ministry leaders, worship and music leaders, and other worship leaders the opportunity for two full Sundays of sabbath rest following the busy Lent and Holy Week season, which was challenged this year by the realities of virtual worship and the growing Covid-19 pandemic in our communities.

With the support of the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church in Somerville, members Shirin Haddadin and Ayman Halaseh formed the STEM for Syrian Refugees program to bring science, technology, engineering and math education to the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan. For more information about the organization, see their Facebook page.

They now have an online auction of art to raise money to continue funding this program. Here is a link to the auction where you will see the paintings made by artists who reside in the Za’atari and Azraq refugee camps in Jordan. Feel free to share this link with your neighbors, family, and friends! This auction ends on May 2. All auction proceeds are going directly to individual artists and to STEM CURES to continue running STEM programs in Refugee camps.
Moved by the Spirit

Newton Presbyterian Church is renewing its commitment to the words of Paul, exemplifying the Spiritual Gifts around us. The Church is asking for donations of artwork from all who feel moved by the Holy Spirit. All interested parties should contact the Outreach Committee of Newton Presbyterian Church at

Artwork that is inspired by religious and spiritual understandings can be based in Scripture, history, or personal interactions with religious life. All artwork will be reviewed and if accepted will be published on the Newton Presbyterian Church Website, social media channels, and hopefully publicized in a special format.
