The Downtown Crozet Initiative (DCI) is a volunteer organization. The goal of the DCI is to work closely with developers and the Crozet community at large to help ensure that the former Barnes Lumber site and properties nearby are transformed into a vibrant and successful downtown that represents the unique character of Crozet. This is a community-wide effort. Participation at the monthly meetings is welcome. Feedback also is encouraged on the DCI web site and Facebook page.

June DCI Meeting Cancelled

The open-forum June DCI Meeting has been cancelled. Instead, it will be an organizational meeting for the DCI group to review the 6 RFP responses it received from Landscape Architect firms and discuss the interview process. Interviews with these LA firms will take place over the course of the next few weeks.

The DCI will select one LA firm to create 2-3 conceptual designs for the civic space/plaza area of Phase 1 of redevelopment. We plan to show these designs to the community for input before making a final decision. We are anticipating this will occur in late Summer/early Fall.

The next public DCI meeting will be held Thursday, July 7, at the Crozet Library from 12 pm - 1:30 pm.
