Message from the CEO
We all know that e-waste if not disposed properly is a huge toxic threat to the environment. As a hub of electronic and related activities, ELCITA has been working on establishing a proper means of disposing e-waste, especially hazardous low-value E-waste.
We are working with Infoactiv to do a detailed study and come up with a framework and guideline on E-waste management for Electronics city. They have assessed the e-waste practices of member companies. We are now disseminating information through a member kit, also available on the ELCITA site.

We have also developed protocols for the auditing of recyclers. The second phase of the study has started, wherein we will also be doing the audit of e-waste recyclers and aggregators.

ELCITA will provide an NOC for recyclers who meet compliance and operation standards. These firms would be recommended to member companies. We also plan to help companies dispose their low value e-waste and set up a help desk for filing of e-waste returns and address queries on disposal.

We request all member companies to be part of the initiative so we can make e-city a model city with respect to both solid waste as well as e-waste management.
Garden or STP?
Believe it or not, this pretty looking ‘garden’ is actually a sewage treatment plant. ELCITA has installed a wastewater treatment plant at the Fire Station of Electronic City. It can process 8 kilolitres a day (KLD) of sewage and is based on CAMUS Soil BioTechnology (CSBT).

CSBT uses only local materials and is an oxygen supplying biological engine. So the process can treat all types of water - domestic, municipal and industrial. This is a giant leap forward from current technologies which rely on aquatic ecology for treatment. This advance allows us to offer energy efficient treatment solutions and deliver superior water quality.

ECCA Dussehra Festival is back!
Electronic City Cultural Association (ECCA) is pleased to announce the ‘ECCA Durga Puja and Dussehra Festival, 2015’ at White Feathers Convention Center, on the NICE Road-Hosur Road crossing, in Bangalore. The event is scheduled to be held from 19th October, 2015 to 22nd October, 2015.
Witness a bonanza of culture and modern entertainment during the week-long-festival. It is the largest Durga Puja celebration in the neighborhood of Electronics City, which would include about 125 stalls consisting of B2B, B2C, Flea Market stalls and Food stalls. There will also be an amusement park for kids.
I came to Bangalore for work. I have been here for 2 years and I love the climate of the city most of all. I am from Andhra Pradesh and the city is very friendly.
Most of my hours, I am at work (I am an Electrical Design Engineer) and other than work I love dancing. I am a classical dancer and I also like other kinds of dance. I dance whenever I am free. I write poems and I have been writing since I was in 8th standard. I like sad stories and sad poems more than happy and successful ones. I feel success is boring and that is not enough. Even my poems are all about sadness and failure, that’s what I like. I think sadness has more of lessons than happiness.
