Successfully Concluded "Runbhoomi - Run for Lake" Marathon
The International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIITB), organized its first "Runbhoomi - Run for Lake", a 6 KM marathon in association with ELCIA on April 13, 2019. The run was organized to bring awareness towards the protection and revival of lakes around Electronics City.

The event also aimed to raise funds to revive the Doddathogur and Doddanagamangala lakes near Electronics City. The marathon was also a call to Bengaluru's citizens to rid the city of reckless exploitation of its lakes.

The run, which started from Infosys Gate No.2, saw enthusiastic participation from the public and was a huge success. All the sales proceeds from the marathon were donated to the ELCIA Trust which has taken up the initiative of reviving the Doddathogur Lake. ELCIA was the proud sponsor of the winners' prizes.

The prizes awarded were as follows:
1st Prize - Rs.25,000
2nd Prize - Rs.15,000
3rd Prize - Rs.10,000
Medical Checkup Camp at ELCIA Boardroom

ELCIA conducted a free medical checkup and consultation camp on April 11, 2019, from 10 AM to 6 PM at its Electronics City office. The camp recorded great participation from nearby communities and the working population of Electronics City.

The medical checks included:

  1. Complete Ayurvedic consultation
  2. Sugar check (GRBS)
  3. Vitals check (height, weight, BP, etc)

Participants were given a 30% discount in post-camp treatment and lab investigation at Care Diagnostics, valid till one month from the date of consultation.

CEO N.S. Rama Speaks to Cell.IT About ELCIA Cluster
Cell.IT, a popular online technology news magazine, interviewed Ms. NS Rama, CEO, ELCIA, about ELCIA's support to electronics system design companies.

She gave the magazine an insight into the ELCIA Cluster, its operations, funding model, and the future of electronics manufacturing in India. Ms. Rama also gave a glimpse into the training provided to the MSMEs while touching upon the importance of creating an ecosystem that supports the growth of ESDM companies.

Launch of Voter Information Center
B.PAC and ELCIA, in association with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Election Commission of Karnataka, launched the Voter Information Center to help with any queries regarding voter ID. The event was attended by the working population of Electronics City and the residents from its neighboring areas.

Dr. Vishwanath, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Bengaluru South, explained the preparation made by the BBMP and Election Commission Of Karnataka for the 2019 general election. He also helped the audience understand EVM machines as well as clarified doubts on voter ID registrations. Additionally, he quickly solved any queries about registration of voter ID by contacting the respective BLOs.

Ms. NS Rama, CEO, ELCIA, then addressed the audience about how the Election Commission of Karnataka aims to solve the problems of voters in the state. She urged the audience to make use of the Voter Information Center set up by Election Commission of India to register themselves in order to cast their votes. The message from the dignitaries of the event to the audience was to encourage them to vote in large numbers. 
IFIM Law School to Conduct a Sensitization Program
IFIM Law School, in association with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and ELCIA, is conducting a sensitization program on “Role of Effective Implementation of Policies, Legislation and Programs to Promote Healthy Ageing”.

Several important dignitaries will address the audience and give valuable insights into the legal rights of senior citizens as well as the role of society in promoting healthy aging. The event will begin at 9:30 AM on April 27, 2019, and will end at 1:50 PM, followed by lunch.

GST: Implementation Challenges and Way Forward
The National School of Business (NSB), in collaboration with ELCIA, conducted "GST: Implementation Challenges & Way Forward", a seminar on the challenges faced in the implementation of GST on April 12, 2019, at their seminar hall.

The session’s keynote speaker was an Adviser to Government of Karnataka on GST representing the industry fraternity of the state. The event also had a Q&A session followed by an exciting quiz contest on Taxation & GST conducted by the student coordinators of NSB.

Blood Donation Drive at Syscon Instruments
A blood donation drive was organized by Syscon Instruments in its Electronics City campus on April 3, 2019, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, in association with the Lions Club. The donation drive saw healthy participation by people employed at several companies in Electronics City and was a great success.

CII Future Mobility Show (FMS 2019)
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conducted its first Future Mobility Show (FMS 2019) from February 26 to 28, 2019, to create sustainable mobility in India. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, and a large number of leading industry associations supported the event.

There was participation from key players of the automobile sector who showcased the latest products and technologies of zero-emission standards from around the world, including zero emission vehicles for future mobility, alternate energy solutions, and related infrastructure.
Season 5 of Electropreneur Park Incubation Program
Electropreneur Park aspires to contribute to the growth of ESDM in India, which will be achieved through the development of a holistic ecosystem for the sector. They invited electronics system design manufacturers to submit their startups for an incubation program.
