Many of you working in Electronics City are residents of Bengaluru, administered by the city municipal corporation -- BBMP. Elections for the city are scheduled on Saturday, 22nd Aug. 

Every vote counts - let’s learn about the contesting candidates and make an informed choice. And post elections, let us engage with the local governments in improving our neighbourhoods and our city.

Foxconn re-enters India

In a big boost to the government's Make in India campaign, Foxconn, the Taiwanese multinational electronic contracting firm, has signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to invest $5 billion in an electronics factory and an R&D centre that will create 50,000 new jobs. The first customer for Foxconn announced officially is China's Xiaomi, a fast-growing smartphone brand in India.

Invention to Innovation

The mouse, graphical user interface, local area networks, laser printers etc. were invented at Xerox’s famed Palo Alto Research Centre. But it wasn’t Xerox that turned this into a viable product: it was, instead, Apple and Microsoft who innovated and reaped the benefits.
