Accessing services for 22q11 DS patients
Please tell us about your experiences of accessing services for your healthcare needs in relation to 22q11 DS.

We have drafted a survey to help us identify the healthcare costs associated with 22q11 DS. We hope to present information to the APPG for 22q11 Syndrome at parliament and it will help us build a case for the support needed by those affected by 22q11 DS.

We would like to gather at least 100 responses, so please take the time to answer the questions.

What is 22q deletion?
If you haven't heard of it please spare 3 minutes of your time to take a look at this video.
It is really is so important to create a greater awareness of this genetic condition in the wider population, not just in the existing 22q community

Music for Zack
Sammi Foreman & family & friends held a fund raising night called Music for Zack on the 6th May.
There were 3 bands who performed (all giving their time for free)
Sammi would personally like to thank: Debbie, Carl, all the band's, and everyone else who went and donated.

They raised a whopping £2382.15, and £476.43 of that goes to Max Appeal.

Thank you Team Lucia
Manchester 10K run

On Sunday 22nd May, "Team Lucia" ran the Manchester 10k, there was 14 of us in total, running in Max Appeal t-shirts, helping raise awareness of 22q11DS. Knowing all these people were running for our little girl was amazing and quite emotional, we can't thank them all enough!!! Race day was brilliant, the atmosphere and support from spectators along the route was amazing. Lucia was waiting at 4K with her big brother, Grandma and Grandpa to cheer us all on - she definitely gave her Daddy and me the boost we needed to get round. We started out just wanting to raise awareness for Max Appeal and 22q, with hopefully raising a few £££s along the way. We definitely didn't expect to raise as much as we did - £2,590 - and we are so grateful to everyone who has supported us. xxxxx
Thank you to all of our volunteers and fundraisers
Please join us in saying a massive ‘thank you’ to our wonderful volunteers and fundraisers who help us in delivering support everyday across the UK.
We couldn't do any of this without you.
22Q Achievements
We would like to share with you the wonderful achievements accomplished by our 22Q members:

Jade D of E Award
I never would have even imagined Jade taking part in something like this, but it was suggested to us by a D of E leader at Jades special needs social club. She goes once a week to information sessions where they learn about First Aid, Map Reading, insects, spotting potential dangers in the countryside, planning to cook dinner on a camping stove, how to put up a tent, planning to pack a backpack, but most of all how to be away from Mum and a Dad with no carer for a short time, including overnight, this is a huge confidence builder.
