Apply for 2021–2022 scholarships

Students can now apply for Calvin’s Named Scholarships for 2021–22! Friends and alumni have generously donated 1200+ scholarships to help students afford Calvin. Students can apply with just one application, which will match them to the scholarships for which they meet the requirements. The application closes on February 1 at midnight.

COVID Response Team updates

Check for the latest all-student updates, FAQs, and plans for spring semester on the Safe Return website.

Upperclass housing

Next year’s junior and senior students should apply by February 8 to live in the Knollcrest East apartments or on an upperclass residence hall floor. The housing options website allows students to compare and apply for on-campus options; it also provides resources for students interested in off-campus neighborhood living.

Project Neighborhood, which provides four off-campus intentional-living communities, still has a few openings! Contact for details.

Tax forms

At the end of January, U.S. students can download their 1098-T tax forms from their Self Service account; tax forms for students who do not opt in to electronic delivery will be mailed to their home address. The 1098-T forms include fall 2020 and spring 2021 tuition. Canadian students may request tax form TL11A. Learn more about tax forms, or contact financial services after January 31 with questions:

Commencement 2021

We expect to announce plans for the Class of 2021 Commencement ceremony—scheduled for May 15, 2021—later in February. We are exploring the best options given COVID-19 safety policies and venue capacities, and we anticipate some changes to how many guests we can accommodate and the traditional schedule of events. Thus, we encourage parents and families to wait with travel arrangements until more specific plans are announced. We remain committed to making the Commencement ceremony and other year-end activities a special experience for our graduates and families.

No borders at Calvin University

So many doors closed … so many doors opened. Meet our International Online Cohort of 65 first-year students and learn how these students, their profs, and CISD students and staff came together to build community across time zones and internet connections.

Would you pray for these students—and their families—while half of them are transitioning to campus this month and the other half are continuing online for the spring?

Nominate an Entrada Scholar

The Entrada Scholars Program offers racial ethnic minority high school students the opportunity to experience college learning and living while earning college credit. Nominate a high school junior or senior by Jan. 15 (student apps due Feb. 15) »

2021–2022 academic calendar

The tentative version of next year’s academic calendar is now available. Fall semester runs August 30 to December 15, and spring semester falls January 10 to April 28. (As announced previously, the January interim will be replaced with a May intensive.) This calendar will remain tentative until summer 2021, but this early peek may be helpful to those already making plans for next school year.
