School Knights YouTube show

Have you caught season two of the live-broadcast School Knights show with Joey and Sarah—designed for prospective students, but a great way for current families to see student life at Calvin? Last week’s episode highlighted the Artist Collaborative and Dance Guild; this Thursday’s show will feature students’ favorite things about Grand Rapids.

UNLEARN Week

UNLEARN Week, held this year on October 4–8, is the kick-off for the year-round program series UNLEARN 365. During this week, we provide a safe campus-wide forum for conversations designed to unlearn stereotypes and biases, promote biblical antiracism, and increase knowledge of different cultures.

This year’s theme is “Identity, Citizenship, and the American Dream?” Students, faculty, and staff have a rich line-up of sessions and conversations to explore what identity, citizenship and the American dream mean for the various groups that make up our Calvin community.

COVID response strategy

We are grateful that our COVID case numbers remain small and that our residential student vaccination rate is over 83% to date. This has enabled us to provide a bit more flexibility with mask-wearing policies in the residence halls. Students, faculty/staff, and campus guests will continue to wear masks in classrooms and all other indoor public spaces based on Kent Country’s current transmission status, but the COVID Response Team will continue to consider adjustments whenever Kent County’s status improves.
