Thanks to Jessie Young for coordinating a terrific staff appreciation luncheon last Friday, and to all the parents who contributed items. Round of applause for Chipotle and Jimmy John's, who donated burritos and sandwiches, too. It was a feast!

The Muir Messenger | March 19, 2018

Hi Muir families,

Last call for Lost & Found! Nurse Dee will be cleaning out our Lost & Found out by March 23. Please stop by to see if your child has any belongings that have been turned in. Anything not claimed by March 23 will be donated to a local non-profit organization. Thanks for taking a peek when you're at Muir this week.

We are ON for a Muir PTO bake sale on Tuesday, April 3. It's Election Day, and t
his is a terrific way for the PTO to raise funds from voters casting their ballots at Muir. We need lots of help making and selling the baked goods. Please sign up HERE. We are looking forward to our bake sale being a rousing success!

Thanks and have a great spring break,

Kathleen Spencer, President,

Attention kid artists and designers!  The Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted invites students in grades K-12 to submit logo designs for its annual conference. This year's theme is "The Power of Student Voice: Our Dreams, Our Needs." Entries are due to Ms. Ishikawa by April 4. For details, please click HERE

Do you have a child with disabilities? Do you care about special education issues? Whether you're a parent or caregiver or educator, you are invited to attend a networking event to brainstorm about the kinds of future training and advocacy events you would like to see in our schools, and learn about the kinds of issues/concerns facing parents of students with disabilities. This event will take place at Cherokee Middle School, (4301 Cherokee Dr.) after the April 18 PTO meeting (beginning around 8:15pm).  It will be open to any and all folks (west side and east side) who care about disability-related issues in general, and specifically special education in our schools. Questions? Please contact Sarah Larson (Thoreau parent of a 5th grader with autism and other learning disabilities) at 608-271-6799 or
