 Our flexible daycare company opened doors at Broadway this week in 2011. Last year (our 10th), everything felt like an anniversary, but none of those years were like 2022...
Happy 11th birthday, Buddings!
This year, we've rolled with the work/life changes stemming from COVID-19, and celebrated government investment in childcare affordability (despite our continued exclusion...). Processing how those affect our business and our families has meant looking for ways to serve a wider audience.
In 2023, that means 5 - 12 year olds!
 This fall, Lynn and the Storybook team are working with our licensing officer at Vancouver Coastal Health to provide Before and Afterschool Care for kids 5 - 12 at our Storybook centre in the new year, including walking school pick-ups and drop-offs for nearby schools, and depending on interest. Veronica's onto the next step of her journey!
 This month, we wish our super floor supervisor, Veronica Ortiz Grande, a very fond farewell, and all the best for the remainder of her pregnancy and the smooth arrival of her baby, due in December. She's been a teacher with us for over a year, and a student here in Canada since 2018. Heading into motherhood, she'll be taking learning and teaching to the next level, and we couldn't be more proud.
Her last day will be at Broadway on Nov. 30, and you can send congratulatory messages to Veronica@buddings.ca until the end of the month as well.
Welcome to the team, Emma and Yuki!
 Thank goodness, we're also joined this month by Emma Le and Yuki Nakamura! They have both joined our permanent roster after completing the Responsible Adult training internship through the fall.
Covering winter breaks and holidays means they will be shuffling between both centres for the next few weeks, but you can definitely find them online, at emma@buddings.ca and - you guessed it - yuki@buddings.ca. Check our Staff page anytime for the complete list of all stars.
Winter Camps are running Dec. 16 - 30, 2022
 Our Winter Program, Crafty Crafts, is right around the corner, running from Dec. 5, through to 2023! We're planning full-day camps over the school break, with daily cooking activities and science, traditions, and of course CRAFTS!
We also have Full-Day Camps over the school holidays from Dec. 19 - 30, for families who stick around.
Since all members can access up to 80 hours at our 2 centres, the winter camps are a great chance to visit the East side site. We will have reduced rates for families who attend at least 3 days per week. Please get in touch to confirm your spot.
