COVID Killers, High Tech Delivery and Crazy Drones!
Hello TechBandit friends, family and supporters!
Hewlett, David Hewlett here. My brilliant wife, Jane, has pointed out that as you've all, kindly, signed up for my little TechBandits email mailing list, that you might want to hear from me now and again!? ;-)

For each TechBandit or GameBandit session, I try to send "show notes", as I call them, out to our fabulous Patreons and of course the Bandits themselves. The hope is this loose list will keep me and the chaos on track and that we've all have go-to inspirations about what to discuss in the hour to 120 minute that these kinda wonderful live streams last for. So, armed with Jane's marketing suggestions I thought I'd start sending these same "show notes" out to you, in order to better keep you informed...or even informed... at all...but mainly so I'm doing what Jane tells me!
This week us TechBandits are, of course, talking COVID and vaccinations, but I also thought it would be fun to see how the online shopping boom that came about because of this extended pandemic ,is fuelled by seriously cool technology...along with some big questions about the future of human workers... and then as usual I added a couple of off topic "Squirrels!" so we all get to enjoy some crazy terrifying drone footage!
TechBandits Show Notes December 15th: Covid Killers, High Tech Delivery and Crazy Drones!

As always, previous TechBandits sessions are available to view over at TheTechBandits.com complete with show notes (when available).
Here's a Quick TechBandits Updatel!
Since early March I've been trying to do one or two TechBandits live streams a week (and even a few D&D and gaming sessions too!) with the kids online...and I've been pretty good at sticking to that... as long as my "real" job doesn't get in the way! Of course, that has begun to happen (fortunately for our finances!) and I've been incredibly fortunate to be a part of some really fun gigs during these weird COVID plagued times.
The TechBandits streams are free for all to view and participate in (I keep the voice chat to our Bandits only, but the text chat is fair game for all... but if you do enjoy them, then please consider subscribing to our TechBanditry channel as it all helps the TechBandits cause!)
We've had some amazing Donations since shutdown that I want to call out huge thanks for... including:

Thanks to our incredible Patreons and Twitch Subscribers I was able to set the TechBandits up with a couple of monthly Adobe account subscriptions so they can play with some real, professional, design, editing and VFX tools... watch out Hollywood...the FilmBandits are on their way!
Subscriber and Patreon, Dstat has kindly (and single handedly) covered the cost of a complete set of PC components so we can build a new PC for one of our TechBandits along with a number of additional sponsorships!
I just finished building the brand new 5 filament Prusa 3D Printer kit we'd been given by Prusa and RealShane and was further shocked and awed to then get a crazy generous cash techbandits donation from Josef Prusa himself while we were chatting on his PrusaLive podcast... thank you PRUSA!

A mysterious Bandit donated another chunk of change during one of our streams... we don't know who you are, but you do... thank you!
We also received an incredible OpenBuilds CNC kit from supporter JonathanLH... thank you all so frackin' much!
I somehow convinced fine folks at Sainsmart that they should let us have one of their amazing little CNC beasts...the 3018-PROVer Kit...and then I went and kitted it out with a brand new safety enclosure and a freakin' cutting laser! Thanks Sainsmart!

As soon as this darn Pandemic is over and social distancing is easier...I'll set them up so that the Bandits can get their grubby paws on them for their Maker projects!
Be Well, Be Safe, Be Brilliant!
All the best,
D!
