Message from the CEO
The 2021 Council election process has commenced for the Shire of Dumbleyung. This is a particularly important milestone election for the Shire as it represents the first time Wards are not being used (resulting from a Ward review process) and a reduction in the overall Council from 9 to 7 elected members. I am pleased to announce that we received four nominations to fill four vacant positions on Council. The successful candidates are Marilyn Hasleby, Kevin Powell, Bevan Doney and Grant Lukins. All successful candidates will be sworn in for four year terms at the 21st October 2021 Ordinary Council Meeting. Two sitting Councillors will retire from their positions at this October meeting, being Jacki Ball and Vanessa Anderson. My sincere thanks to Jacki and Vanessa for their contributions to Council, noting Jacki’s significant contribution being a former Shire President & current Deputy President.
At the August Council meeting the Policy manual was adopted. This is available on the Shire website for viewing
The office has two new staff members, Dave Williams, Project Manager and Danika Allday, Director of Corporate Services. I would like to thank Nicole Taylor for her outstanding service over the last five and a half years. All staff and Councillors wish you all the very best with your future endeavours.
With the staff changes we have had to apply for an extension to adopt the 2021/22 annual budget which was requested and granted. The rates notices will be sent out after the adoption of the budget.
