IMPORTANT: ALL REMAINING EVENTS TO BE HELD VIRTUALLY
On Friday, the Department of Student Life informed all student organizations at The University of Akron that due to rising local and campus COVID-19 cases, in person meetings and events are no longer permitted and must be held virtually instead.

This means that effective today, all official RooCatholic events will now be held virtually. We understand that this news may be disappointing and even frustrating to some, but the safety of our members remains a top priority. We are confident that we can still provide an enriching and fulfilling faith experience online.
ST. BERNARD PARISH REMAINS OPEN
With the closure of the Newman Center to in person events, St. Bernard's Church remains open to fulfill the spiritual needs of all in the community as a parish.

Please follow their social media and website for parish news.

"BOXES OF JOY" UPDATE
Because the update to UA's coronavirus policies came just before the Newman Night where we would've packed shoeboxes for "Boxes of Joy," we will no longer be able to offer that activity as an official RooCatholic event. We are working with the parish on alternative ways to pack and ship the shoeboxes in accordance with our new guidelines.

In the meantime, we will still be accepting donations of shoeboxes, funds to cover shipping costs and of course, items to fill the shoeboxes with. These items can be toys, school supplies or personal hygiene products. For a complete list of items that are acceptable, as well as not acceptable, please visit the following link.

You may drop off donation items or pre-packed shoeboxes to the St. Bernard parish office this week.
