yn ddwfn o ddyfroedd gweddi ac o nentydd myfyrdod sanctaidd: cadwa ni’n driw i’r gras a’n glanhaodd yn nyfroedd Bedydd, a thywallt dy drugaredd parhaus arnon ni ym mannau llonydd ein calonnau; fel y gallwn ddatgan, trwy’r maeth hwnnw, dy faddeuant, dy iachâd a’th lawnder trwy’r byd i gyd; trwy Grist, dy Anwylaf Un, sy’n fyw ac sy’n terynasu gyda thi a’r Ysbryd Glân, un Duw, yn awr ac am byth.

Malachi 3. 1-4
"Wele fi'n anfon fy nghennad i baratoi fy ffordd o'm blaen; ac yn sydyn fe ddaw'r Arglwydd yr ydych yn ei geisio i mewn i'w deml; y mae cennad y cyfamod yr ydych yn hoff ohono yn dod," medd ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd. Pwy a all ddal dydd ei ddyfodiad, a phwy a saif pan ymddengys? Y mae fel tân coethydd ac fel sebon golchydd. Fe eistedd i lawr fel un yn coethi a phuro arian, ac fe bura feibion Lefi a'u coethi fel aur ac arian, er mwyn iddynt fod yn addas i ddwyn offrymau i'r ARGLWYDD. Yna bydd offrwm Jwda a Jerwsalem yn hyfrydwch i'r ARGLWYDD, fel yn y dyddiau gynt a'r blynyddoedd a fu.

Philipiad 1. 3-11
Byddaf yn diolch i'm Duw bob tro y byddaf yn cofio amdanoch, a phob amser ym mhob un o'm gweddïau dros bob un ohonoch, yr wyf yn gweddïo gyda llawenydd. Diolch y byddaf am eich partneriaeth yn yr Efengyl o'r dydd cyntaf hyd yn awr; ac yr wyf yn sicr o hyn, y bydd i'r hwn a ddechreuodd waith da ynoch ei gwblhau erbyn Dydd Crist Iesu. Felly y mae'n iawn imi deimlo hyn amdanoch i gyd, am fy mod mor hoff ohonoch, ac am eich bod i gyd yn cyfranogi o'r fraint sy'n dod i'm rhan, pan fyddaf yng ngharchar yn ogystal â phan fyddaf yn amddiffyn yr Efengyl neu yn ei chadarnhau. Oblegid y mae Duw'n dyst i mi, gymaint yr wyf yn hiraethu, â dyhead Crist Iesu ei hun, am bawb ohonoch. Dyma fy ngweddi, ar i'ch cariad gynyddu fwyfwy eto mewn gwybodaeth a phob dirnadaeth, er mwyn ichwi allu cymeradwyo'r hyn sy'n rhagori, a bod yn ddidwyll a didram-gwydd erbyn Dydd Crist, yn gyflawn o ffrwyth y cyfiawnder sy'n dod trwy Iesu Grist, er gogoniant a mawl i Dduw.

Luc 3. 1-6
Yn y bymthegfed flwyddyn o deyrnasiad Tiberius Cesar, pan oedd Pontius Pilat yn llywodraethu ar Jwdea, a Herod yn dywysog Galilea, a phan oedd Philip ei frawd yn dywysog tiriogaeth Itwrea a Trachonitis, a Lysanias yn dywysog Abilene, ac yn amser archoffeiriadaeth Annas a Caiaffas, daeth gair Duw at Ioan fab Sachareias yn yr anialwch. Aeth ef drwy'r holl wlad oddi amgylch yr Iorddonen gan gyhoeddi bedydd edifeirwch yn foddion maddeuant pechodau, fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig yn llyfr geiriau'r proffwyd Eseia: "Llais un yn galw yn yr anialwch, 'Paratowch ffordd yr Arglwydd, unionwch y llwybrau iddo. Caiff pob ceulan ei llenwi, a phob mynydd a bryn ei lefelu; gwneir y llwybrau troellog yn union, a'r ffyrdd garw yn llyfn; a bydd y ddynolryw oll yn gweld iachawdwriaeth Duw.'"

This Week In our Prayers
The Diocese of Bangor.
Bishop Andrew John
Bangor Synod
Area Dean Rev’d Lloyd Jones

This week we pray for the life, mission and witness of the Bro Eryri Ministry Area.

St Peris’s Day, one of the patron saints of the Area, is celebrated on 11 December.

Source of all goodness, your servant Peris drank deep from the waters of prayer and the streams of holy contemplation: keep us true to the grace that cleansed us in the waters of Baptism, and pour your continual mercy upon us in the silent places of our hearts; that so nourished we may proclaim your forgiveness, healing and wholeness in all the world; through Christ, your Beloved One, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

The Readings this week

Malachi 3. 1-4
See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight – indeed, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears?
For he is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap; he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the descendants of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, until they present offerings to the Lord in righteousness.
Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old and as in former years.

Philippians 1. 3-11
I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart, for all of you share in God’s grace with me, both in my imprisonment and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that on the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

Luke 3. 1-6
In the fifteenth year of the reign of Emperor Tiberius, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was ruler of Galilee, and his brother Philip ruler of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias ruler of Abilene, during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness. He went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah, ‘The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
