Changes to the Employment Standards Act, 2000

We wanted to make you aware of the recent changes affecting the posting and sharing of information related to the Employment Standards Act, 2000, in your workplace.  Previously the only requirement was to have a poster of the Act somewhere visible in the workplace, as a reference for your employees. Now however, in an effort to increase the awareness of employee rights, the law requires employers to provide an Employment Standards Act, 2000 poster to all of its employees, and to ensure that one is posted in an accessible place in the office/workspace.
 
The deadline for providing a copy of this poster to your current employees is June 19th, 2015.
 
Afterwards employers will have 30 days from the date of hire of a new employee to provide them with the document.
