Pick the first bloom of spring and meet our adorable new additions!
Greetings, dear readers! 😊
If you've been part of my community for a while, you'll know that one of my favorite parts of fiber festivals is seeing all of the adorable baby animals. Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes the hope of new beginnings. This month, instead of a limited edition set, I've added two new fiber friends as permanent additions to the herd. After we get to know them, I'll also share a beautiful new bloom to style your shawls for the new season ahead.
These pups can't wait to pounce on your project. Like the Lovable Lambs, they'll happily play tug of war with your loose ends to hold six inches to one yard of lace, fingering, or sport weight yarn snug against your stitches. A one-foot yarn length will give them the cutest tummies possible.
Like their real-life counterparts, these cutie pies can't wait to chase down your yarn tails. They're purrfectly content to sit on your yarn joins and make those multi-skein projects even more pawspurrous.
Both the Playful Pups and Curious Kittens are available in your choice of white, black, or soft speckled gray. There's also an option for a mix of all three for the widest variety of paw-fect stitch companions. Ready to choose yours?
As promised, I've picked a fabulous new floral as our first #ShawlPinStyle for spring! This Czech glass bead forms concentric rings of pretty petals that grow lighter and lighter as they reach the warm rose gold setting. This brilliant burgundy will bring a rich, berry tone accent for a bold statement piece that still has a noticeable softness and sophistication. If you'd like to add this bloom to your collection, you can order your own Orchid here! 🌺
For today's goodbye, I thought it would be fun to share a picture of how I decide which settings make each new bead shine best. By holding them up to the coils, I'm able to see how the tones play together and an estimate of how the light will dance on the finished piece.
As always, my supurrvisor and chief bark officer wanted to send their regards. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day full of all forms of love, and that you know how grateful I am for your fiber friendship. Until next time, happy stitching! 💙
