Producing more - in less time

‘Time is money’ as the saying goes. This month we caught up with Paul Shepherd, owner of Design Edge Kitchens, to discover how Cutshop helps him to produce more kitchens in less time.
Paul enjoys working with Cutshop - as well as the ease of dealing with the North Shore branch, the numbers really stack up - Paul is able to do two to three kitchens in the same time it used to take for one!  He also benefits from ordering materials as and when required, rather than carrying his own factory stock.

Paul also shared the latest kitchen trends... "an uncluttered look with clean lines and slim cabinet handles is popular at the moment". He says there is also a big demand for hardwearing acrylic cabinet doors (like Glossmax).

You can see some of Design Edge Kitchen's latest work over on the blog.

Calling all Waikato tradies and DIY'ers...

This week heralds the opening of Cutshop Waikato in Hamilton.  Keith and Anthony have been busy getting our Te Rapa factory and showroom ready.  We've imported the latest European CNC and edgebanding machinery, which together with the sophisticated Cutshop software, will take projects from paper designs to 3D reality.

Keith is excited by the Cutshop business model which enables tradies to increase their output without a large capital investment and reduce costs at the same time. For DIYers, projects are possible that otherwise wouldn’t be due to a lack of machinery and expertise.

“Placing an order is easy. Customers just send us a drawing with the measurements of the cabinet (or other project) and we then create a cut list. Once the cut list is approved, we start the job. We can source the material, or customers are also welcome to use own suppliers.”

To celebrate Cutshop Waikato launch, Keith and Anthony are hosting a barbecue on Saturday 29th October.  We'd love you to see you there, but you don’t need to wait till then to find out what Cutshop is all about — just give Keith a call on (07) 444 5545 or drop in and check out the new branch at 47 Northway Street, Te Rapa, Hamilton.

Think it. Make it... Share it.

Organising your home...

One reason why we love DIY, is the sense of satisfaction and household team-work. One of our customers sent us this pic of their home office that they designed and Simon & the Mt Wellington Cutshop team cut, edged and delivered flat pack, complete with fittings.  The best part of this project was that it was a father and son weekend project.

Great for the home - and the
pandas too!

Plantation Bamboo samples in our showroom

Our bamboo samples are in!  Call in to one of our branches to check them out.

Bamboo is a great choice as a viable material for a wide range of projects. People tend to choose the more common timber, hardwood, laminate or ply - but consider bamboo for a sustainable and renewable option.  Did you know that bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world - growing up to one metre per day!

As well as being a natural good-looker, bamboo is also well known for its hypo-allergenic properties and is incredibly tough and durable!

We've been busy trawling the web to bring you some cool DIY project ideas. Check out our Pinterest albums for the latest inspiration.

Are you in or near Hamilton on Saturday October 29th? Come and join Keith, Anthony and our other Cutshop team members, to celebrate Cutshop Waikato opening with a BBQ sizzle. Call us on 07-4445545 or just drop in at 47 Northway Street, Te Rapa, Hamilton. See you there!

Andre has been on the road this month introducing Cutshop to the regions of Hawkes Bay, Manawatu and Taranaki. Update coming soon, and in the meantime read more about what's happening at Cutshop over on our blog.

Inspired by the Home Show? - pop in to our showroom - or give us a call - to talk through any upcoming any projects.
