March Update

The Reporter Herald recently published an amazing article about Centerra's NWF Community Wildlife Habitat Program Certification! Follow the link to read it: http://www.reporterherald.com/news/ci_29510213/centerra-be-first-habitat-community-colorado

If you live in Centerra, we need you to register your home as a Certified Wildlife Habitat! Click http://www.nwf.org/how-to-help/garden-for-wildlife/create-a-habitat.aspx?s_subsrc=Web_Content_CWH_GardenSite_Main_3 to learn more!
We will have our first volunteer event of the season this Saturday, March 5 at 9:00 am! Come join us for our semi-annual Adopt-a-Roadway event where we pick up trash along a section of Boyd Lake Road. If you are planning to attend please email kelley@suburbitat.org for more information and to RSVP. We hope to see you there!
Join us for Growing Your Own Vegetables from Seeds and Transplants at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse on Tuesday, March 8 at 6:00 pm as presenter Susan Bonsall discusses:
  • How to plan and create a vegetable garden including choosing the best location, garden configuration, tips on soil preparation, fertilization, watering and mulching.
  • How and when to plant both seeds and transplants successfully, both indoors and outdoors.
  • The specific growing requirements of a variety of vegetables that can be grown in this area.
Pre-registration is required. For more information about the lecture series and how to sign-up, check out cityofloveland.org/LWPLectures.
HPEC is partnering with Denver Botanic Gardens, The Butterfly Pavilion, Colorado Native Plant Society, CSU Extension, and the Front Range Wild Ones to host a Landscaping with Colorado Native Plants Symposium on March 12, 2016 at The Ranch in Loveland.

Coming Soon!
We will have our 3rd annual native plant sale on May 14, 2016 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm featuring plants grown in our own nursery at 2968 Bluestem Willow Drive. The day will also include local foods and demonstrations from various partners focused on wildlife and native landscaping.
