“Wonderful Things Happen When People Come Together” – Fr. Bouzi

The generosity of the parishioners within the Diocese of Buffalo continues to astound us at Upon This Rock. While Commitment Weekends are in full swing, three parishes rose above their goal thanks to the support of the community here in Western New York.

At Holy Cross in Buffalo, Fr.
Quilin Bouzi held the first Commitment Weekend at the parish.  Forty-eight new families have chosen to participate and pledge $90,350 to the campaign, which is almost 50% of their goal! In total, the parish has raised $200,800 that is $15,800 more than their goal of $185,000! Fr. Bouzi was thrilled at the success of the Upon This Rock campaign, stating that “we worked together as one.” With the funds raised, the parish plans to create a Deferred Maintenance Fund that will help address issues such as renovating the ceiling and floor of the parish hall, and restoring the stained glass windows in the church.

Fr. Walter Grabowski is thrilled to announce that Holy Spirit of North Collins has surpassed its goal before the public announcement! A total of 37 families have already participated in the campaign and collectively raised $209,200. That is 110% of goal! With its parish share, Holy Spirit will repair the windows of the convent, purchase A/C for the church, and repave the parking lot.

Elsewhere in the Diocese, even more parishioners are getting involved with the campaign. In Belmont, Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph held their first Commitment Weekend resulting in 11 new gifts, totaling $46,940 of the $91,750 raised. That is 67% of goal in one weekend! These contributions have brought the parish to 131% of goal!Dcn. Francis Pasquale, Jr. will use these funds for ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the parish grounds such as St. Joseph and St. Mary Cemeteries.

Congratulations to everyone at Holy Cross, Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph and Holy Spirit on all of your successes!

A Prayer for Upon This Rock

Loving God, we come to You,
standing together in faith,
ready to realize the freshness of a bold endeavor,
as we look to the future of our Church.

Building up the Kingdom of God on earth is Your will and our privilege.
Bless our efforts with the energy and enthusiasm we need.

Jesus, our Redeemer,
encourage and guide us.
Open our hearts to be good stewards because of our love for You.

Holy Spirit, our Sanctifier,
empower us to carry out Your will for the Upon This Rock campaign.

May Your Goodness be upon us,
And give us success to the work of our hands and hearts.

We ask Your blessing now and always
through Christ Our Lord.

Amen!
