Bishop Malone Promotes Upon This Rock at Gala 22:6, Catholic Education Dinner

On Thursday, the Foundation for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo hosted its annual dinner to support Catholic education, Gala 22:6.  In its history, the dinner has raised more than $3 million which helps to provide scholarships for students at Catholic elementary schools.
During his address to the attendees, Bishop Malone proudly shared Upon This Rock’s goals to further support Catholic education.  Of the campaign’s $100 million goal, the Diocese has earmarked $3 million for capital investment in the STREAM program at Catholic elementary schools.  Additionally, $12 million is allotted for a permanent endowment to provide additional tuition assistance to both Catholic elementary and high school students.
“We must continue to do everything we can to make a quality, values-based Catholic education within reach for those who desire it for their families,” Bishop Malone appealed to the audience, concluding, “You will hear more about Upon This Rock in the coming weeks.  I ask you to include the campaign’s success and the further strengthening of our schools in your prayers.”
Bishop Malone will publicly announce Upon This Rock at a special event on February 18.

A Prayer for Upon This Rock

Loving God, we come to You,
standing together in faith,
ready to realize the freshness of a bold endeavor,
as we look to the future of our Church.

Building up the Kingdom of God on earth is Your will and our privilege.
Bless our efforts with the energy and enthusiasm we need.

Jesus, our Redeemer,
encourage and guide us.
Open our hearts to be good stewards because of our love for You.

Holy Spirit, our Sanctifier,
empower us to carry out Your will for the Upon This Rock campaign.

May Your Goodness be upon us,
And give us success to the work of our hands and hearts.

We ask Your blessing now and always
through Christ Our Lord.
