Every week a parish reaches and exceeds its goal in the campaign and with Labor Day behind us, this week is no exception as two parishes – St. Mary of Lourdes in Bemus Point and Immaculate Conception in Eden -- rose above their goal!
This week is also the start of Block 3 of Upon This Rock, and it isn’t a surprise to see a parish surpass their goal before the new block is publicized. Immaculate Conception will be the first of many to reach goal, raising a total of $403,300, from 50 gifts. Fr. Grabowski wasn’t astonished at the success of the campaign as he worked tirelessly to send out the message of Upon This Rock. He contributes the accomplishment to the “deep faith and love of the Church of the parishioners who understand this initiative.” Since the parish met goal, 55% of all additional funds will go directly to its community.
Fr. Remick reports that St. Mary of Lourdes held its first Commitment Weekend last week, where it raised over $100,000 to bring the total to $461,835! The parish is now over goal from 81 gifts and 55% of future funds raised will go directly to the parish to be used to install air conditioning in Bemus Point and Mayville, as well as an endowment for the church. The second Commitment Weekend was held this past weekend and will be reported on in the next newsletter.
Congratulations to Fr. Grabowski, Fr. Remick, and parishioners at Immaculate Conception and St. Mary of Lourdes for all of their successes up to this point in the campaign!
