HARD WORK PAYS OFF!
The next phase of the Upon This Rock campaign is upon us as all the parishes from the Pilot phase received their first checks. To congratulate their accomplishment, Richard C. Suchan, the Executive Director of The Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo will present each of the Pilot parishes with a giant check. The physical cash has already been deposited.
Of the nine parishes, SS. Peter and Paul of Hamburg received the largest amount at $152,365! They received incredible support from the parishioners, raising $2,154,207 from 605 gifts. That is the most gifts we have seen from one parish to date! The parishioners at SS. Peter and Paul truly believe in Upon This Rock, and the benefit that the campaign will have on their community. With the first payment in their grasp, Fr. Mattulke can establish an endowment to fund and sustain the parish school and faith formation programs. The money will also be used to help refill the funds that went into recent upgrades for the school.
St. Mark of Buffalo is right behind SS. Peter and Paul with the astounding amount of $105,713! They raised $1,327,498 from 200 gifts, surpassing their goal of $740,000 by 79%. Fr. Rogliano plans to use the money to continue working on the buildings within the parish grounds, such as the interior of the church, rectory, and school buildings.
St. Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo, Vincent de Paul in Niagara Falls, St Rose of Lima in Buffalo, St. Mary in Arcade, St. Benedict in Eggertsville, Immaculate Conception in Ransomville, and Holy Family in Albion all received their first disbursement last week as well. We will hear from two of the parishes, Immaculate Conception and Vincent de Paul in Friday’s podcast regarding where the money will go and what Upon This Rock meant to them.
