Bishop Malone Publicly Announces Upon This Rock Campaign

On Thursday, February 18, 2016, Bishop Richard J. Malone addressed the press at Cardinal O'Hara High School to publicly announce the Upon This Rock initiative. In attendance at this event were Pilot parish pastors, campaign Ambassadors, and representatives from various segments of the campaign.

Bishop remarked, "As I've met with pastors and parishioners to discuss this effort, many have said 'my parish needs me.' I agree, your parish does need you. We also need each other. This campaign jointly addresses our individual parish needs and establishes long term sustainable funding for our ministries."

A key moment in the presentation was a video that highlights every element of the Upon This Rock campaign.  Many of the representatives in attendance at the public launch were featured in this video, describing how this initiative will improve each component.  The full video can be seen below:

LEARN HOW TO GIVE

A Prayer for Upon This Rock

Loving God, we come to You,
standing together in faith,
ready to realize the freshness of a bold endeavor,
as we look to the future of our Church.

Building up the Kingdom of God on earth is Your will and our privilege.
Bless our efforts with the energy and enthusiasm we need.

Jesus, our Redeemer,
encourage and guide us.
Open our hearts to be good stewards because of our love for You.

Holy Spirit, our Sanctifier,
empower us to carry out Your will for the Upon This Rock campaign.

May Your Goodness be upon us,
And give us success to the work of our hands and hearts.

We ask Your blessing now and always
through Christ Our Lord.

Amen!
