Chloé Galibert-Laîné & Kevin B. Lee Screening & lecture performance
Kino Andorra 17.9. klo 19-20.30
Bottled Songs investigates desire, power and terrorism in online and social media. Through an exchange of video letters, Chloé Galibert-Laîné and Kevin B. Lee follow traces and fates of their subjects at war, fought both online and on the ground.
How do personal truths impose their will upon the realm of facts to craft images of reality? How have the utopian promises of the social media age given way to nightmares? How might those promises be retrieved?
With excerpts from the project, the artists will introduce their pioneering practice of desktop documentary and online research.
Bottled Songs is developed in a residency with m-cult in Helsinki in August-September 2018. The residency is produced by m-cult in context of the European Media Art Platform EMAP, a network of leading media art institutions from across Europe. EMAP organises artist residencies, networking conferences and touring exhibitions, with support of the Creative Europe Programme. http://emare.eu/
