Chloé Galibert-Laîné and Kevin B. Lee - EMAP residency at m-cult

Through an exchange of video letters between the artist-researchers, Bottled Songs explores representations of terrorism in online and social media.

How do personal truths impose their will upon the realm of facts to craft images of reality? How have the utopian promises of the social media age given way to nightmares? How might those promises be retrieved?

The residency is produced in context of the European Media Art Platform EMAP.

Bottled Songs on sarja videoesseitä, jossa taiteilijat tutkivat terrorismin kuvastoa netissä ja sosiaalisessa mediassa.

Miten subjektiivisesti koetut totuudet muokkaavat faktoista uusia todellisuuden kuvastoja? Miten sosiaalisen median utopioista on päädytty nykyisiin painajaisiin, ja onko paluu utopioihin mahdollista?

Residenssi tuotetaan osana European Media Art Platform EMAP-verkostoa.

Otto Karvonen, Justus Kantakoski & friends: Maunula Collection launch 23.8. 18-20

Maunula Collection - Artist Otto Karvonen and designer Justus Kantakoski's collaborative public art process Maunula's New Clothes culminates in the launch of the experimental fashion collection. The event starts from the Maunula house entrance and bubbles around everyday venues of the neighbourhood until 20.

Otto Karvonen, Justus Kantakoski & ystävät: Maunula Collectionin julkistus 23.8. 18-20

Maunula Collection -vaatemalliston lanseeraus. Kuvataiteilija Otto Karvosen ja muotoilija Justus Kantakosken luotsaama osallistava julkinen teos Maunulan uudet kuteet huipentuu Saunabaarilla ja Maunula-talon Työväenopistossa tuotetun malliston esittelyyn. Tapahtuma käynnistyy Maunula-talolla klo 18 ja rönsyilee kaupunginosan arkisissa paikoissa klo 20 saakka.

Bottled songs at Kino Andorra 17.9.

To finish the residency Chloé and Kevin will present a screening / lecture performance. With excerpts from Bottled Songs, the artists will introduce their practice of desktop video and online research. The event is free of charge but requires registration by Friday September 14.

Residenssin päätteeksi Chloé ja Kevin kertovat työstään screening/luentoperformanssissa. Bottled Songs -katkelmien lisäksi taiteilijat esittelevät desktop-videon ja nettitutkimuksen käytäntöjä. Tilaisuuteen on vapaa pääsy, rekisteröidythän pe 14.9. mennessä!

Rogério Nuno Costa and Jaime Culebro have documented local styles since autumn 2017. On the Night of the Arts all 27 style icons will take over the info screens at Maunula house from 15 on for the whole night.
