EMAP Residencies 2020 & 2021 

m-cult is looking forward to hosting two artist collectives in the European Media Art Platform residencies. Viral Fictions by Forms of Ownership will be conducted in Autumn 2020 and The Great Offshore by RYBN.org in Spring 2021.

During their residency, Forms of Ownership will explore and expose economic narratives. They will investigate how the contemporary technology and media landscape disseminate the 'normative' forms of economic life and its socio-political relationships. 
 
Forms of Ownership is a collective of artists, lawyers and economists: Vienne Chan, Obsessive Possessive Aggression (Slobodanka Stevceska, Denis Saraginovski), Alan Cunningham and Boris Oicherman.

EMAP-residenssit 2020 & 2021 

m-cult toivottaa kaksi taiteilijakollektiivia tervetulleeksi European Media Art Platform -residenssiohjelmaansa. Forms of Ownership toteuttaa Viral Fictions -projektinsa syksyllä 2020. Keväällä 2021 on vuorossa The Great Offshore, tekijänään RYBN.org.

Residenssiprojektissaan Forms of Ownership tutkii kriittisesti teknologian ja median sekoittumista talouselämän sosio-poliittisiin suhteisiin ja normeja tuottaviin narratiiveihin. 

Forms of Ownership -kollektiiviin kuuluu taiteilijoita, juristeja ja ekonomisteja: Vienne Chan, Obsessive Possessive Aggression (Slobodanka Stevceska, Denis Saraginovski), Alan Cunningham and Boris Oicherman.

Money Lab Helsinki at Oodi

Money Lab is an international network and series of events where artists, designers, researchers and activists experiment with forms of financial democratization. The 9th edition of Money Lab will take place in Helsinki in September 2020.

Money Lab Helsinki will redefine economic networks in the post-capitalist era. As global finance collapses, initiatives of decentralized cryptoeconomy explore alternative forms of value, money and organisation. The event presents tools and experiments and encourages the public to gain literacy and agency in the digital economy.  

Money Lab Helsinki is co-produced by m-cult and Economic Space Agency (ECSA) in cooperation with the Institute of Network Cultures.

Money Lab Helsinki Oodissa

Money Lab on kansainvälinen taiteilijoiden, suunnittelijoiden, tutkijoiden ja aktivistien muodostama verkosto sekä tapahtumasarja, joka etsii uusia muotoja talouden demokratisaatiolle. Kahdeksas Money Lab toteutuu Helsingissä syyskuussa 2020.  

Money Lab Helsinki kartoittaa taloudellisten verkostojen organisoitumista kapitalismin jälkeisessä ajassa. Miten käsityksemme arvosta, rahasta ja yhteistoiminnasta järjestyvät uudelleen maailmantalouden romahtaessa? Tapahtuma esittelee hajautettujen vertaisverkkojen ja  kryptotalouden työkaluja ja kokeiluja, sekä kutsuu yhteisöjä ottamaan haltuun digitaalisen talouden lukutaitoa ja toimintamalleja.

Money Lab Helsinki -tapahtuman tuottavat m-cult ja Economic Space Agency (ECSA) yhteistyökumppaninaan Institute of Network Cultures.

Coming up: Profiling the Profilers

The final piece of the ambitious Web Politics Trilogy by Disnovation.org presents a counter campaign to surveillance capitalism. Profiling the Profilers is based on an app which allows users to profile the big tech companies - deploying the very same tools as the companies use to extract data on their users.

The app will be launched within a few weeks accompanied by an essay on the project by Alessandro Ludovico. In the meantime please read the thorough introduction by Disnovation.org!

The Web Politics Trilogy was developed during the artists' residency with m-cult and the project premiered in the Network Effects exhibition at Oodi in 2019.

Tulossa: Profiling the Profilers

Disnovation.org -ryhmän kunnianhimoisen Web Politics -trilogian viimeinen osa on vastakampanja valvontakapitalismille. Profiling the Profilers -sovellus antaa käyttäjien profiloida teknologiayrityksiä samoilla keinoilla joilla nämä louhivat dataa käyttäjistään.

Sovellus ja projektia taustoittava Alessandro Ludovicon essee julkaistaan lähiviikkoina. Odotellessa suosittelemme, että käyt lukemasa aiteilijoiden perinpohjaisen johdannon projektiin täältä.

Trilogiaa kehitettiin merkittäviltä osin m-cultin residenssissä ja se sai ensi-iltansa Oodin Network Effects -näyttelyssä 2019.

Online and locally embedded

In 2020, the m-cult programme continues to focus on changing global and local contexts. In the Online Imaginaries theme, our attention shifts towards new economic and organisational imaginaries. Within Maunula Collaborations, we will co-create local spaces of collectivity.

Locally embedded and online productions are meaningful to m-cult due to their collaborative potential and ecological sustainability. By developing these practices further we hope to overcome social distances in a post-crisis world.

Netissä ja paikallisesti 

m-cultin ohjelma 2020 jatkaa globaalien ja paikallisten kysymysten äärellä. Online Imaginaries -teema pohtii talouden ja organisoitumisen muotoja internetissä. Maunula Collaborations -tuotannot pyrkivät rakentamaan lokaalin yhteistoiminnan tiloja.  

Netissä ja paikallisesti järjestettävät residenssit ja tapahtumat ovat m-cultille kiinnostavia yhteistyön ja ekologisen kestävyyden kannalta. Kehittämällä niiden käytäntöjä pyrimme ylittämään kriisien luomia sosiaalisia rajoja.
