Welcome to follow m-cult's programme in 2018! We are delighted to work with 5 fabulous artist duos to co-produce projects that interweave local and global issues as well as online and offline realities. In a range of international forums - in Helsinki, Liverpool and Dublin - we will discuss artistic practices that involve digital media and collaboration.

Tervetuloa seuraamaan m-cultin tapahtumia 2018! Ohjelman ytimessä ovat upeat taiteilijaduot ja 5 produktiota, jotka luotaavat paikallisen ja globaalin sekä virtuaalisen ja fyysisen todellisuuden rajoja. Sarja kansainvälisiä foorumeita - Helsinki, Liverpool, ja Dublin - tuo tekijät keskustelemaan osallistavan ja digitaalisen taiteen käytännöistä.

EMAP residency artists selected
The European Media Art Platform EMAP was launched at transmediale in Berlin. The first artist residency call received 500 proposals, and the 11 selected projects will be co-produced by the platform partners in 2018.

m-cult is excited to work with Kevin Lee and Chloé Galibert-Lainé on their ambitious video essay project which moves in the online/offline landscapes of global terrorism. More details on the project soon!

EMAP -residenssitaiteilijat valittu
European Media Art Platform EMAP lanseerattiin Berliinin transmediale-festivaalilla. Verkoston taiteilijaresidenssikutsuun tuli 500 ehdotusta, ja 11 valittua mediateosta syntyy EMAP-kumppanien yhteistuotantona 2018.

m-cultin residenssiin saapuvat alkusyksystä Kevin Lee ja Chloé Galibert-Lainé, joiden kunnianhimoinen videoessee-projekti liikkuu terrorismin online/offline -maisemissa. Lisätietoja projektista tulossa!

Avatar game by Tellervo & Oliver Kalleinen
In their new project commissioned by m-cult, Tellervo and Oliver Kalleinen will collaborate with peer groups from Maunula to influence their neighbourhood. Each group will develop a real-life avatar, played by an actor, which they conduct within the local 'game zone'. The artists wish to create a playful form and an exciting collective experience to address urban change.

Tellervo ja Oliver Kalleisen Avatar-peli
Tellervo ja Oliver Kalleisen uusi todellisuuspeli tuotetaan m-cultin tilausteoksena Maunulassa. Osallistujaryhmät suunnittelevat oman avatar-hahmonsa, joka näyttelijän esittämänä suorittaa tehtäviä kaupunginosan 'pelikentällä'. Tavoite on luoda leikillinen muoto paikalliselle vaikuttamiselle ja yhteisöllinen kokemus, joka purkaa muuttuvan kaupunginosan kipupisteitä.

Media/Art/Worlds conference March 24
The production and presentation of media art takes place in a hybrid economy involving diverse platforms and institutional contexts. In this conference we hope to share expertise on how to develop projects, reach audiences and sustain practices across the many media art worlds. The conference is part of EMAP's kickoff programme in Helsinki and the keynote speaker is curator, researcher Sarah Cook.

Mediataiteen tuotanto ja esittäminen tapahtuu monimuotoisessa instituutioiden, alustojen ja toimintakulttuurien verkostossa. Media Art Worlds -konferenssi pohtii teosprosessin, yleisöjen kohtaamisen ja kestävän taidekäytännön mahdollisuuksia mediataiteen hybriditaloudessa. Konferenssi on osa EMAP-verkoston Helsingin ohjelmaa ja keynote-puhuja on kuraattori, tutkija Sarah Cook.

Costa & Culebro: Maunula Looks
The street photography project by Rogério Nuno Costa and Jaime Culebro records individual styles of Maunula residents. Initiated in 2017 within the Partizaning Maunula series of urban interventions, the popular project now continues with its Winter 2018 Collection. Life-size portraits will take over the screens at Maunula House in March 16-April 7.
