TAKE ACTION: Sign on by 3/9 to protect the National Environmental Policy Act!

As we have shared in previous updates, the Trump administration has proposed sweeping rollbacks to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) implementing regulations.

Please help us fight this attack on public input and federal environmental reviews by joining with more than 150 groups to sign on to this letter by Monday, March 9th to urge the Council on Environmental to withdraw its disastrous proposal.

The proposed changes would eliminate critical NEPA protections for the environment and people alike throughout the country, with profoundly negative impacts for Water Protection Network priorities. The changes would apply to every federal agency, affecting more than 100,000 federal actions each year. The changes would dramatically undermine your ability to weigh in on flood damage reduction projects, oil and gas pipelines, major transportation projects, river dredging and navigation projects, mining proposals, and restoration projects.

Sign-on deadline: Monday, March 9th, 2020 at 5:00 PM ET

We also encourage you to share this letter broadly with your networks. Here is a list of the organizations that have signed on so far.

We encourage WPN members to engage more in this critical fight to protect NEPA  by submitting individual organization comment letters and taking other actions. We've put together this toolkit as a resource for member organizations and partners to learn more and take action.
