Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences on Friday, February 15th
Parent-Student-Teacher Conference Day is coming up next Friday, February 15th! All parents (along with their students) are strongly encouraged to sign up for conference slots with teachers.

Conference slots with teachers are available 1pm-6pm.

There will be an early release for students, with dismissal at 12pm and buses departing campus at 12:15pm.

Don't forget that students are encouraged to attend the conferences alongside their parents, so if you are signing up for earlier conference slots it may be best for your child to wait for you on campus.

You will need to book an appointment slot with each teacher you would like to meet with. To do this, go to DragonNet (or click and follow this link) and scroll down until you see the sign up link for each teacher. You must login to your MA email account to access DragonNet! If you can't get into your MA account because you have forgotten your password, please contact Wendy Johnson at the front desk to ask for a password reset - you can call her at 540-687-5581 or email her at Your family email account is, although a few families have a 2 after their last name.
This Friday, February 8th, Student Council is holding this year’s Winter Formal Dance from 8:00-11:00pm.

The dance will be held in the Dining Hall so all students must be dropped off and picked up at the student parking lot entrance.  All other doors will be locked.

Tickets will be sold during lunch all this week for $10. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Alex C. ’23 is partnering with Leveling The Playing Field (LPF) to run a collection drive. This is the last week for the drive!

LPF collects donated sports equipment and redistributes it to low-income kids throughout the DMV. All donations benefit needy schools, after school programs, and athletic leagues looking to engage their students in the physical and mental benefits of youth sports participation. LPF relies on used/excess sports donations from local communities to engage underprivileged children, so clean out your garages and basements of your old sporting equipment so that we can get every kid off the sidelines and into the game!

There will be a collection box in Mary House (to the left when you walk in the main door - in the coat closet), as well as the Dining Hall.
NHS Winter Clothing Drive Results
Recently, NHS wrapped up its winter clothing drive. Thank you so much to everyone who donated to help local families and Syrian refugees through SOME and NOVA Relief Center.

We had over 200 clothing items and all of the people who received the donations were incredibly happy and thankful to have winter clothing to keep them warm in the frigid climate.

Mr. Todd’s advisory won the competition with 27 items and will be rewarded with a pizza party! The Adgate, Kruck, and Sevillia advisories also did incredibly well, bringing in just a few items less than the Todd advisory. Those advisories received cookies last week for their excellent participation.
NHS’s next drive will support FOHA (Friends of Homeless Animals), a nonprofit shelter which supports abandoned and displaced dogs and cats in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.

There is a donation box located in the front office. Some of the requested items include the following, below, but there are more items posted on a list in the front office:
  • Gift cards to PetsMart, Pet Valu, Petco, Webers, Whole Pet, and Dog Gone Natural
  • Fromm and Merrick dog food
  • Friskies and Fancy Feast cat food
  • 6-foot rope-slip leads
  • Martingale dog collars
  • Step-in harnesses in medium, large, and x-large
  • Clumping kitty litter
  • Cat trees/condos
  • Cat and dog toys
  • Bleach
  • Laundry detergent
  • Paper towels
  • Printer paper
