Mandatory Junior College Counseling Evening
On Monday, January 28th at 6:30pm there will be a mandatory college counseling evening for JUNIOR (Class of 2020) families. This includes students AND their parents/hosts!
Special Holocaust Survivor Assembly: Wednesday, January 30th
Middleburg Academy is honored to host Rubin Sztajer next Wednesday, January 30th during our assembly period (10:20am to 10:55am). The schedule will be such that lunch will directly follow the assembly, to allow more time for questions and conversations with our guest.

Mr. Sztajer is a 92-year old survivor of the Holocaust (at the Markstadt Concentration Camp) and will be speaking about his experiences to our student body. In advance of Mr. Sztajer's visit, we will be watching a film from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum tomorrow (1/23) during our assembly period.

We are inviting parents to attend this special event on 1/30, but we request that you RSVP by following this link. We also request that no small children are in attendance, due to the subject matter that will be discussed. Please be sure to arrive before assembly begins!
Middleburg Academy's Alexa Newsfeed
Middleburg Academy is the only independent school in Virginia to offer an Alexa Newsfeed - or skill! Students are producing daily newsfeeds from the school and all you need to do is add this skill to your Alexa/Echo account. So in the morning, ask Alexa, "What's in the news?" and you will hear the news of the day from the students.

Special thanks to Chelsea P. '19 and Alexa (yes, Alexa) L. '19 who are the voices of these Amazonian Dragons!

1. Go to Amazon.com
2. Search: Middleburg Academy
3. Click "enable skill" and that's it!

1,2,3, and it's free! Enjoy.
Senior Project Parent Volunteers
Each year, our seniors head off campus to complete unpaid internships, or similar, in fields of interest to them - art, museums, engineering, computer science, animal sciences, and more. To help facilitate this, we depend on parent and community volunteers from a broad range of fields who are willing to mentor students for a short period of time in May.

If this sounds like something you would like to help us with, please get in touch with Edwina Bell at ebell@middleburgacademy.org with your field of specialty. She can provide additional information.
Leveling The Playing Field Collection Drive
Alex C. ’23 is partnering with Leveling The Playing Field (LPF) to run a collection drive starting next week. It will run for two weeks.

LPF collects donated sports equipment and redistributes it to low-income kids throughout the DMV. All donations benefit needy schools, after school programs, and athletic leagues looking to engage their students in the physical and mental benefits of youth sports participation. LPF relies on used/excess sports donations from local communities to engage underprivileged children, so clean out your garages and basements of your old sporting equipment so that we can get every kid off the sidelines and into the game!

There will be a collection box in Mary House (to the left when you walk in the main door - in the coat closet), as well as the Dining Hall.
