Election 2017

It is time to elect you board members for the 2017 year.

The following have put their names forward to serve as board members.

Please review and make your choices.

SHANE GOLTZ.

I was born and raised in central Alberta and continue to live in the Winfield area. I am looking forward to being a Board Member (if elected) for the C.C.C as I feel this organization has a lot of potential, and has a great  foundation. I really like the closeness of this group, and how friendly, and welcoming they are. I have been a Member for three years now, and I have really enjoyed all the aspects of the C.C.C.  I feel the C.C.C is an open, and welcoming group that supports all competitors in every aspect of the Challenges. I look forward to helping the C.C.C grow and continue its positive attitude.

I have read and will abide by the Code of Conduct for the Board of Directors for the C.C.C.

LONI JOHNSON

I was born and raised in Ponoka. I am a mom of two children, and soon to be a third child. My son’s name is Ashton, and my daughter’s name is Joelle. Both kids are involved in our farm life with either 4-H with their horse or calves. We enjoy camping, riding, quading, and most of all traveling.

I was raised in town, but started riding lessons when I was six. From there I leased a horse from a friend, and showed in the Quarter Horse Association. By the time I was nine I started Pony Club, and bought my own horse. When I turned ten I started beef 4-H, and horse 4-H as well. I was involved three years with beef, and nine years with the horses. When I turned sixteen I began to barrel race, but lost interest after a year.

I did the family life as my kids grew up, and enjoyed spending time with my whole family we were looking for new things to do and came across the C.C.C two years ago, and have really enjoyed it. The people are great, and the Challenges have been a learning experience. I really enjoy putting on my own Challenge as well. A lot of time, and effort goes into all Challenges, and all of the volunteers are great to have around. I look forward to the upcoming year.

I have read and will abide by the Code of Conduct for the Board of Directors for the C.C.C.

CHARLOTTE MCNAMARA

I grew up in Ontario and starting riding when I was nine.  I have dabbled in all sorts of disciplines and breeds.  I have ridden hunter-jumpers, reiners, cutters and have driven anything from minis to Belgians.  I have worked on ranches and have even done a season on the Chuckwagon circuit.  All in the name of being the most diverse and well-rounded horse woman I could.  I jump at all opportunities I am presented with to learn more and better myself as a rider and overall horse woman.

I was introduced to the CCC last January and was impressed by the support offered to new members and I think that is one of the most important aspects to get new members out and involved.  I would like the opportunity to help this association continue to grow and thrive in whatever way I can.  I feel as a young person I can also help offer a different take on things and hopefully help and appeal to younger people to get active and involved in this association as well.

I will abide by the Code of Conduct for the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cowboy Challenge.

AL BIGNELL

I’m once again putting my name forward to be on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Cowboy Challenge Association.  I have been on the Board for the past two years. I was the V.P the first year, and the President the second year.  I believe that in the past two years we have grown in Memberships and Challenges. I will also work my hardest to see that growth continue. It has been a great learning experience to be involved with this Association, and such a great group of people. I’m also a Certified Judge with the CCC and serve on the Rules and Judging committees as well.

I have read and will abide by the Code of Conduct for the Board of Directors for the Canadian Cowboy Challenge.

HANS KOLLEWYN

Being involved in the equine world has been and is a long life learning journey for me. From riding as a child, taking riding lessons, shoeing horses for a living, I have learned to integrate this knowledge and experience to better understand the rider/horse relationship.

As a competitor, I have shown horses in many events: such as Quarter horse shows, cutting, working cow horse, and trail. I have been on and currently on a committee which organizes performance horse events. These experiences have been a great asset for me to better understand the equine industry.

The knowledge and experiences from both my professional and personal life has given me a good understanding of the equine industry. With this background I hope to be able to help with the process to promote the growth of the CCC in a positive direction. I believe that the CCC’s mission statement focusing on the “Horsemanship” to be all important to the future of the CCC and the equine industry in general.

I have read and will abide to the Code of Conduct for the Board of Directors for the CCC.
