                                   WRITING UPDATES

Collision, Book Three of the Prophecy Series, recently took an unexpected left turn when I thought we were going right--and I'm quite pleased with the new direction! I plan to have the first draft turned into my developmental editor by April 30th. Still on track for a 2017 release.

I have a title for my PNR vampire novella! Made for Her. The first round developmental edits are almost finished and should be back with my editor by next week.

Started a new SFR novella for a boxed book set coming out in October. This is still in the very early stages, so not much to report on yet.

May 2, 2017*, is the final day the first ever Pets in Space anthology will be available. Don't miss out on this wonderful collection of nine out-of-this-world SFR short stories found no where else!

I am proud to have been a part of this collaboration, and of the many milestones my colleagues and I have
reached together. Here are just a few:
   * Raised over $2,000 for
   * Named Library Journal's 2016 Best Book of the Year (E-Originals

   * Winner of the
2016 Sci-fi Galaxy Awards: Best Anthology

   Once this anthology is gone, my story Space Ranger will be on
   hiatus indefinitely. If you haven't read it yet, I encourage you to
   pick up a copy of the original Pets in Space before it slips away.

              Amazon * B&N * GooglePlay * iBooks * Kobo

*Some of you may have seen the announcement that Apr. 30th was the last day. It was, but due to unforeseen circumstances the date changed. We don't expect any further changes.

Update on last month's question of how you all bake your St. Patty's Day corned beef. Michele emailed me and offered her tip to spread the mustard of my choice on with the seasoning. I chose honey mustard, and it was wonderful! Hubby said it was the best corned beef he's ever had! :)
Thank you, Michele, for your suggestion. I have altered my recipe accordingly:

Oven Roasted Corned Beef

Pre-heat over to 350 degrees
Place brisket on rack in roasting pan, fat side up. Add water and/or chicken broth until it reaches top of rack. Spread mustard flavor of your choice over top then sprinkle with corned beef spices. Cover tightly with foil and place in pre-heated oven. Cook one hour. Add vegetables (I use potatoes, baby carrots, but you can also add onion wedges, and cabbage). Cover and continue baking until fork tender--approx 2 more hours depending on size. Mine was a smidgen under 5 lbs. Enjoy!
Last September we were blessed when this sweet pup joined our family. Certain members of said family insisted we name him Ranger after the dog in my in my stories Space Ranger and Prophecy, even though he wasn’t a Rhodesian Ridgeback, or a girl! It turned out that our Ranger’s attitude matched that of his fictional namesake to a tee. Loving and loyal, with lots of spunk. Unfortunately, he was called to heaven last month and we miss him with all our hearts.

Ranger was an avid supporter of Pets in Space, and allowed me to use his image for promotions (many of you may recognize him). This line from my story in that anthology will forever remind me of our beautiful baby boy:

“I am the dog, the guardian of this place, and I survey my domain as I lay here in my yard, warming myself in a spot of sunshine.” – Space Ranger
On a happier note, you all have heard about how humans make plans and God laughs, right? After losing Ranger, we had resolved not to look for our next dog until after summer. Turned out she couldn't wait that long. On April 1st we welcomed a new blessing into our family, a 13-week-old Doberman-Bull-mastiff puppy. Meet our sweet--and frighteningly smart--April (named for the month we got her, and not after my heroine from All of Me, I swear). Needless to say, the family has been knocked on our keesters by the sudden turn of events, but April is helping heal our broken hearts with licks and wags and puppy antics.

Alien Mate
Release date: Apr. 10, 2017

I'm Starr Elizabeth Connor. Earth's government falsely convicted me of a crime, packed me on a ship with other female felons, and sent us to Dakon, a primitive, frozen wasteland of a planet. Why? Earth needs minerals, and Dakon is desperate for females.

But I'm no barbarian’s 'mail order bride,' even if he is super tall, muscular, and the chief of his tribe. He doesn’t want a BBW blonde, either--it's written all over his chiseled face. He'll be truly angry if he ever learns what my 'crime' was.

I am Torg. I have waited 34 rotations for a mate of my own. With this shipment, I was sure to get a fine, sturdy mate who'll bear me many daughters. Instead, I receive a small, curvy, pale-haired female who looks at me with anger and fear.

It is only when we 'kiss' that I believe things may work out between us. But I'm hearing rumors that Starr and her shipmates are law-breakers. To survive, Dakonians must obey all laws … or be exiled into the frozen wasteland. Just when I have found her, will I have to send my mate to die?

Caught in the Glow
Demons of Fame Romance

She'll risk her heart to save his soul...

When she was a child, Avery Harmen watched her father die at the hands of a Glower—a breed of demon that feeds on dreams of fame and glory. Now she secretly protects the rising stars of Los Angeles from the demons that prey on them, determined to make sure her clients never suffer the same fate.

Then Avery finds herself assigned to Colin Ryder, a young indie rocker who just landed a major label deal. Colin is

cocky, rebellious, a brilliant musician, and already in the Glowers' sights.

He's also far too hot for Avery to ignore the chemistry between them—especially when she gets to know the tender side behind his celebrity facade. Though Avery knows she's falling too fast, she's willing to risk heartbreak if fanning the flames of attraction distracts Colin from his Glower-tempting antics. But Colin is keeping a secret of his own, one so big it will put both her heart and his soul on the line.
